Sandblasting
At Wranglers we have the whole process here for the customer so there is no need to go to different companies for different jobs. It’s all here under the same roof.
We can Manufacture and Fabricate it here, then we can blast it here then all is left is to paint using our on-site airless spraying service or have it Powder coated here using our oven, again here on site. No sending it away, no long delays, we can do it all here at Wranglers Products.
Blast Cleaning is forcing an abrasive material, like grit, by compressed air onto a surface to clean or remove a bad coating, like flaky paint or rust and corrosion. The pressure can be changed depending on how much corrosion or bad surface area there is. Differing grades of blast media with different abrasive qualities are chosen for each specific job.
Course Grit
We tend to use a course abrasive when blasting something that is very thick with corrosion but doesn’t require an extra smooth finish. For example in the drum of a cement truck it gets clogged up with hard, old cement and needs to be cleaned out. For this we would use course grit. Course grit does leave a slight indentation which is why you wouldn’t use it on something like a car body shell. It is also very good for marine growth on boats and much corroded steel.
Medium Grit
Good for general steel fabrications without leaving a real indentation. Tends to be the most used on steels etc.
Superfine Grit
Used on car body shells and repairs on trucks etc. Often used when blasting a lorry trailer as leaves no indentation.
SC Grit
Almost powder like this is used for wood work as it won’t damage the wood and will leave it looking brand new. This is the only type recommended to be used on green oak.
Stone Coarse Grit
This comes in three types the coarse the medium and the fine. Very good for removing grime and coatings from brickwork without damaging the bricks themselves. As you get down to the finer grit it can be used on delicate steel and is ideal for aluminum.
Glass Grit
This is recycled from bottled bank glass and is used for the blast cleaning of soft or intricate stonework at doesn’t damage the stonework itself. It is also ideal for removing graffiti from decorative panels without damage. Again comes in two sizes a medium and a fine.
Aluminium Oxide
Used for cleaning non-ferrous components, glass etching and providing a profile on stainless steel.
Walnut shells
Walnut shells are used as a type of polishing technique. You can polish up the decorative patterns without blasting them off. Also used in Mould and die cleaning.
Garnett
For high performance blasting and sites requiring low dust levels. The coarser grades may be recycled a number of times. The smaller sizes are ideal for cutting applications.
It is really important that a skilled and trained workforce is employed even for the smallest of jobs and with 15 years experience we at Wranglers Products are just that.
Below is a picture of a wheel before and after it was shot blasted. I’m sure you can guess which is which..........
